Harrier, a Mid- Range SUV from Tata after a long time

Tata Motors has launched its all-new Mid range SUV Harrier. Tata is very close to many middle-class sectors and heavy-duty vehicle sectors of the society. From salt to steel Tata has its unique mark in every field including automobiles.

With a rapid change in the automotive sector, especially in the design section. Tata has given a very unique design to the all-new Harrier. Thus, making it stand apart from all the new models set to arrive in the market.

Tata Harrier came into the market on January 23, 2019, after much speculation about the specifications. The car has been launched in India with a price tag ranging from 12.69L for XE to 16.25L for XZ. The model will be in totally four variants and is build on the OMEGA platform. This is also shared by discovery sport from Landrover. Besides this, The new Harrier comes with the all-new IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. The Harrier stands truly intact to its H5X concept from AutoExpo 2018.

DESIGN:

The distinctive front face makes Harrier look unique with wide honeycomb grille. With day time running LED lights at both corners and projector headlight units below them. From the front, the car looks very high from the ground because of its black colored bumper along with silver lining at the bottom.

On the side, the car reminds of the landrover discovery sport model because of the same platform. The bold wheel arches and climbing window line makes it look sporty. The back also is very impressive with sharp tail lights with black glossy lining connecting them. The tail lights are LED treated and the bold cladding enhances the sports look and give a heavy SUV cut.

Interiors:

On the other hand, The interiors give a classic look with a perfectly blended dashboard and upholstery. There is oak wood used along with premium plastics which creates a luxury feeling and the oak finish is continued to door push handles also. The eye-grabbing point is the 8.8-inch touch screen infotainment system that accommodates every function. There is also a wide silver lining running along the dashboard highlighting the screen. The three-spoke steering wheel comes with all control buttons and digital odometer. The five-seater SUV comes with luxurious seating and is expected to even have a sunroof as an option. Harrier also has the biggest boot space of 425 liters and can be expanded to 800 too.

Tata Harrier comes with all standard features like LED DRLs, HID Xenon headlamps, keyless entry from the basic variant itself. Whereas, the top variant will get additionally an 8.8-inch screen with smartphone connectivity, terrain drive modes and auto climate control. The model is equipped with 9 JBL speakers and amplifier, logo projections on the outer mirror also.  Additionally, ABS, EBD, and airbags are standard along with mitigation control, electronic stability control (ESC), hill and brake assist control for the top variant.

Engine:

The SUV comes with a 2.0 liter, four-cylinder diesel engine from Fiat. The company claims to have low friction for better refinement and efficiency. The model churns up 138bhp  power and 350Nm of peak torque. The engine comes with six-speed manual gear train from Hyundai.

On the whole, the model and being from tata, Harrier got an immense response from the market. It is seen that Harrier sales have an increase over that of the Jeep compass with 1449 units this February. Tata is planning is for a 1.6L petrol engine and harrier 4×4 as options which can be a part of the update based on the future response.

We can say that with Harrier, Tata has got the success it has been waiting in the automobile sector and we believe that there would be more model lined up very soon.
