Glanza from Toyota, twinning with Suzuki’s Baleno

Toyota to avail it’s all-new Glanza from June 6, 2019. Toyota is known for it’s heavy vehicles like Fortuner, Innova, Land Cruiser and Land Crusier Prado. On the other hand, it is not equally valued for light mode vehicles like sedans and hatchback. The story remains the same from it’s Etios to the latest Yaris. Now, Toyota is again coming up with the all-new Glanza hatchback.

Body Design:

Though there is a lot of speculation about it’s launch, there is also equal criticism about it’s similarity with the Suzuki Baleno. Under the Suzuki- Toyota Joint Venture, both the companies will be sharing each other designs. At the first step Suzuki is lending it’s Baleno to Toyota. Incidentally, Glanza is too identical to it’s Baleno brother ( in a way the same). From the spy pics, we are sure that the front face is no different except for the chrome finished grille with Toyota’s batch.

Coming to the side profile, one can surely mistake Glanza with Baleno because of the same body language. The body arches and shoulder line are the same for both. At the back, the only change we can see are the labels and the Toyota logo. So, one has to move to the back or front to fade away with the confusion.

Coming to the interiors, Glanza yet again twins with Baleno. From the dashboard to the upholstery, every detail sits the surprisingly, even the 7.0 inch touchscreen for infotainment system is the same place.

Engine & Future:

What makes Galanza really different is under the hood. Here Toyota’s originality is seen as it offers it’s 1.2L K12B petrol engine that churns 84bhp power. Also, 1.2L K12C DualJet engine with smart Hybrid system but that would be after sometime in future. Toyota offers 5-speed manual and CVT automatic Transmission gear train options.

Since the features and the amenities are the same we can understand the similarity between their variants too. Baleno’s Alpha will be equal to the V variant of the Toyota’s version. Incidentally, this will the top most variant from Toyota. Similarly, Glanza’s G variant will be the Baleno’s Zeta.

The best and most different part of the Toyota’ Glanza is it’s warranty offer. Toyota will be offering it’s warranty system for 3 years or 1,00,000 kms. Whereas, Suzuki offers warranty system for 2 years or 40,000. Furthermore, It is certain that cost of the Toyota’ version will be higher than Baleno.
