Jaguar Landrover has recently announced that its hybrid electric vehicles would in India from 2019. Globally there is an increasing demand for electric vehicles. Incidentally, companies like Kia and Tesla have entered into the Indian stage. These also started giving tough competition to existing companies in the hybrid sector. So naturally, Companies have fastened their job of electrification to their fleet and launch in their field of markets as soon as possible.
One such news comes from Jaguar Landrover Ltd. that has a strong market base in the Indian business sector. The company has a proposal to launch it’s electrified variants to the whole of its portfolio by 2020. In the same line, the company is thinking to have vast market electric and battery cars in India starting from 2019 itself.
The first step will be the launch of Landrover P400e in 2019. By the end of 2020 Jaguar Landrover is planning to Launch its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)- Jaguar I-PACE. “Jaguar Landrover’s focus is to commit itself to a more sustainable future. Our engineers have developed just the right products to lead us on this path,” says Rohit Suri, President & MD, Jaguar Landrover India Ltd. (JLRIL).
This new and revolutionary step comes due to encouragement from the Indian Government’s FAME-II. As per the sources, this new scheme helps for faster adoption of electric vehicles.
When comes to competition, Audi has already announced that its e-Tron will come to India by 2020, while Porsche is coming up with its Taycan. On the other hand, Volvo has also released its manifesto for the project. Surprisingly, Mercedes Benz and BMW are yet to announce their stand on this topic.
